James Lauer Green was born in Burlington, lowa. He is retired NASA scientist who served for NASA for 40 long years. James belonged to America and worked till 1 January 2022 for NASA. He was the 10th NASA chief scientist from the period of May 1, 2018 to December 2021.

Jim green Career in NASA

In 1980 James started working at NASA’s “Marshall Space Flight Center” in physics branch. At Marshal flight scientist Green was responsible for developing and managing the space physics analysis network that can provide scientists with access to the data.

At Goddard Space Flight Centre Mr. James Lauer Green was the head of the National Space Science Data Centre (NSSDC) from the period of 1985 to 1992. From 1992 to 2005 he gave his services as the chief of the Space Science Data Operations Office, he also became the chief of the Science Proposal Support Office. On the IMAGE mission Green was the Deputy Project Scientist and co-investigator while serving at Goddard.

Green was also a good writer and has over 100 scientific articles on Earths and Jupiters magnetospheres he has also written 50 technical articles on data system and networks. In August 2006 green achieved one more milestone and entered NASA headquarters where he was appointed as Director of Planetary Science Division and gave his services as spokesman for NASA in planetry mission. In 2015 during Ted’s presentation he drowned people’s attention towards the places in the solar system where the chances of aliens living were higher.

In the same year of Ted presentation he became the part of the film The Martian in 2015. On 1st of May 2018 James L Green achieved highest position of his life and became the 10th chief scientist of NASA. After him the current and 11th NASA chief scientist is Katherine Calvin.
